In my golf course review of the Charnwood Forest Golf Course I was trying to be unbiased and objective as I am also a member. This course in it's unique environment, fantastic views and really well maintained greens is challenge to all comers. Not long but tricky as evidenced by the course record. That is by a professional. Gary Wolstenholme managed a net 64.
Dog-legs, blind greens, heather, dry stone walls and tricky lies make this rural gem something special. The ambience is relaxed and friendly. If you intend to play golf in Leicestershire, this is one you should not miss.

So, I admit it, I'm a member here. In my golf course review of the Charnwood Forest Golf Course I'd Rather than give a rose-tinted view I'll give you a factual view of the oldest course in Leicestershire. Jimmy Braid design. Heathland Golf Course. Short and very tricky. All about positing your ball off the tee. Plays well when other courses are suffering in the bad weather. Beautiful vistas especially in Autumn. SSSI on most of course. Never too busy. Great for a few holes in summer evenings. Good value green fee. Little gem.
