The shame of it is this is actually a nice golf course, not great, but very nice. The problem is the course is not marshalled and there is no minimum handicap requirement, as a result the course was full of hackers and I've never experienced slow play like it. We had a group of six playing on a Friday & Saturday, Fridays round took 5 hours, and half of us packed up after 3 hours and 9 holes on Saturday, and the remainder stuck it out for a 6 hour round. We called in twice, the first time after a 4 ball took 30 mins to play the 4th, and the Pro said he would send out the Marshall , no such person appeared. It transpired there was no Marshall. Even the catering lad in the half way hut said he could see how slow it was and he called the pro shop and suggested they "put somebody in a buggy to go out and sort the problem". It seemed they were just happy to take the money and let anybody out there to play, and speaking of money, the beer in the golf bar was just short of a fiver a pint. The whole place seemed devoid of staff, there was only one waitress serving breakfast for about 100 people.
One other issue was our bedroom was in a block 10 mins walk from the main building, ok if it's fine, but if it was raining you would have to drive over for breakfast or whatever.
