The Ipswich GC Purdis Heath Course is designed by James Braid at a length of 6439 it has 18 holes with a medal par of 71 and a 71 SSS Rating. Situated in the town of Ipswich it is one of the East Anglia Golf Courses that RateYourCourse recommends that you not only play but provide a golf course review for our golf communities.

Ipswich is a traditional members club offering a warm welcome to visitors, societies and prospective members. Golf has been played at Purdis Heath since 1926, although Ipswich Golf Club itself was founded 31 years earlier, in 1895. Originally located at nearby Rushmere Heath, the club moved to its present site to enjoy the delights of an 18 hole course designed by the legendary architect James Braid. Forty years later a 9 hole course was added - enjoying the same splendid heathland terrain as the main course.

In my golf course review of Ipswich GC Purdis Heath Course I found this to be a great heathland course, its not a long course but you have to make sure you hit your driver in the fairway as most fairways have heather on them. Greens were in good condition when I played they ran very true maybe be a little slow but great. You have a good mix of short and long par 4's a good test for all players. A very friendly club members make you feel welcome.
Well worth a day out to play.
