The Isle of Purbeck Golf Club Purbeck Course is a Heathland Golf Course designed by H Colt at a length of 6,295 it has 18 holes with a medal par of 70 and a 70 SSS Rating. A visit here is a must for all golfers; the beginner is catered for on the 9 hole Dene Courses and the PurbeckChampionship proves an exciting test for even the most accomplished golfer.The Club dates back to 1892, and among the past owners, who were responsible for the extension to 27 holes, were Enid Blyton, the legendary writer of childrens books, and her husband, Dr Darrell-Waters. The courses are built on heathland and are set within a nature reserve where many rare plants can be seen as well as rare birds.
