In my golf course review of Walton Heath new course I would say this is one of the best heathland courses you can play. You start of with a easy start a drivable par 4 then a short par 3 then its a good challenge for the next 16 holes. You have to hit it straight of the tee as heather lines all the fairways. For this time of year the course was in great condition greens were smooth and a good speed. Food and drink in the clubhouse was good value.
A great day out

For my Golf Course Review of the Langland Bay Golf Club I felt that it was a really good golfing facility that gave a very friendly welcome. I felt that the general facilities of the Changing Rooms, Pro Shop and Practise Range were reasonable whereas in the other areas the golf course excelled.
The Scenery and Environment in which the course is set rates 10 out of 10 and the green staff have really done a great job in presenting a superb venue for golf.
The course represents great value for money and is a must play when in the area of the Gower Peninsula.

For my Golf Course Review of Bulbury Woods Golf Course it is a very short course with a few tight holes. With fairways surrounded by trees on either side, holding your nerve is important. Could be very tricky in high winds, tests your ability to hit the ball straight off the tee! Great value for money at £16 for the round .

For my Golf Course Review of The Trevose Golf Course, The Championship Course I have played many times but this last time they seemed to be experiencing great problems with their greens which the condition when I played was terrible.

For my Golf Course Review of Epping Golf Club This a very average course, that provides no frills or polish. The club house needs upgrading and the toilets are not clean. It is clearly a golf course on a budget The golf teachers are very nice however, particularly those who do the junior lessons. Unfortunately the owner is quite unfriendly and has some strange approaches. He will not let the juniors practice putting. Unfortunately this is quite an important element of golf!

Golf Course Review played September 2011. This unusual 10-holer is situated in a wonderfully scenic corner of England. Sheep covered fells. Torrents and leaping salmon. Dry-stone walls and beautiful little cottages. The course offers a delight for the eyes. Please ensure you play when the weather is good or you'll be very disappointed. The course itself is short and straightforward. The opening 300 yard hole is a dogleg left with OB stopping all but the long-hitters going for the green. The 2nd is a tree guarded par-3 with a fast flowing river ready to catch any topped ball (also watch out for fell walkers, too!). The 3rd is a par-5 where the green is nestled at the confluence of two rivers. And so the holes go on. When playing the 5th you may see at green to your right which you'll play second time around. There is a steep climb involved on the par-5 7th with the fairway throwing every well-hit shot to the left and into the rough. The rough, by the way, was cut fairly short when we played. Meadow grass. A bit damp and muddy with all the rain we had had. Very friendly in clubhouse. Anyway well worth a visit when the weather permits and excellent value at £20 for 18h.

For my Golf Course Review of Hazel Grove GC is OK, describing it as a gem is a little overstating matters. The course is short and almost bereft of any rough, but does benefit from a couple of well placed water hazards. Much is made of the McKEnzie connection but after a comprehensive overhaul I would be interested to know how many of the great man's original holes remain as he designed them. Stand out holes are 3, 4, 11 and 17. The signature hole is a nice little risk reward affair but much of the back nine is pretty bland.....is the signature hole a McKenzie hole ?? Unlikley one imagines.
The USGA greens are always good and the clubhouse and food are above average. However it does lag a long way behind it's illustrious neighbour at Stockport GC on all counts.

Golf Course Review for Hazel Grove Golf Club.As you arrive at Hazel Grove you see the manicured 1st fairway away on your left and then the two tier 18th green carefully watched over by Alistair McKenzie himself - or at least a lifesize tree carving running his considerable eye over the approach shots and closing putts of the golfers at the end of their rounds. You can almost see an imperceptible nod from the great man himself as the ball rattles in the cup.
These sights set you up for what proves to be a testing, but fair, challenge around the golf club's parkland course. The course is spacious and well laid out and you see the benefits of lots of caring work carried out recently by members and staff ranging from the renovation of the bridges that cross the stream on the 1st and the 3rd to the re-establishment of the fountain on the lake that fronts the 8th hole par four.
Overall, a well laid out and presented eighteen holes with some challenging drives and fast, tricky
greens. As you acknowledge Alistair as you walk off the 18th you'll feel that you've had an excellent golfing experience at Hazel Grove and that first drink will be well deserved.
A Cheshire gem not to be missed.
