The Mentmore Golf & Country Club, The Rothschild is a Parkland Golf Course designed by Bob Sandow at a length of 6700 it has 18 holes with a medal par of 72 and a 72 SSS Rating. Situated in the town of Mentmore it is one of the East Anglia Golf Courses that RateYourCourse recommends that you not only play but provide a golf course review for our golf communities.

The back nine are played beneath the honey-coloured turrets of the Towers whose watchful gaze can be inspirational to the most humble of golfers, particularly the 14th hole when a carry over more water can test even the strongest nerve. Complacency must be avoided until the 18th hole has been successfully negotiated, as this long par 3 between trees and over a small pond can be a potential card wrecker.

For my golf course review of the Mentmore Golf club the greens had been hollow tyned. This was not mentioned when the tee time was booked 5 days ago or this morning before we set off or when we arrived. We found out for ourselves on the first green. All the bunkers were GUR as there had been heavy rain the day before. You can't blame mother nature but the course fee was still £65 given the circumstances this should have been reduced. Overall the club is okay but thats as far as I would go.

In my golf course review of Mentmore Golf Club I found the clubhouse and the food to be great, also I did like that they have a spike bar which was nice and relaxed.I played the Rothschild course which was in great condition when I played, the greens were fantastic. You have a great views all around the course and you get a great look at the Mentmore Towers, a magnificent country home built for Baron Meyer Amschel de Rothschild. You could spend all day there as they have 2 courses, tennis courts, gym and a swimming pool. Its got all you need in one place. Not sure as a visitor if you can use the gym as I did not check.
A good fun day out.

In my golf course review of Mentmore Golf Club I found all the staff and members to be very friendly. They have a good clubhouse and the food you get is great and a good value, I very much like that they have a spike bar so you dont have to change from your golf shoes to get food and drink. I played the Rothschild course which was in great condition when I played, the greens ran very true its not the most challenging course but good fun to play. You have a great views all around the course and you get a great look at the Mentmore Towers, a magnificent country home built for Baron Meyer Amschel de Rothschild. This would be a great place to be a member as they have 2 courses, tennis courts, gym and a swimming pool. Its got all you need in one place.
A good fun day out.
