Theale Golf Course, designed and constructed by owner Mike Lowe, was founded in 1996. Set in 150 acres in the Berkshire countryside, this young, yet quickly established 18 hole golf course offers an interesting and enjoyable game for golfers of all abilities. Also offers a driving range, an excellent short game practice area with undulating greens and sand traps and a clubhouse overlooking the 18 hole.

Each hole, thoughtfully laid out, is well defined with clever use of the abundance of mature trees already in place coupled with the thousands of new trees planted during construction. Although flat this parkland course is deceptively challenging.

Holes varying in length from 145 yards to 530 yards (off the yellow tees), and numerous hazards in between ensures a game at Theale Golf Club remains interesting throughout. Water is featured on six holes and approximately 60 bunkers of varying shapes and sizes ensure your skills continually are tested. All greens have been built to USPGA specification and are bent grass greens. The course boasts exceptional drainage making Theale Golf Club one of the few courses in the area that is playable throughout most weather conditions.

For my Golf Course Review of the Theale Golf Course it was a Horrible experience from start to finish.

When calling to book tee time guy on the phone made me feel like he was doing me a favor letting me book.

Got to the course in plenty of time before tee off time, went into the non existent pro shop, guy on counter (bar), presume same guy who had answered the phone when i booked grunted back in a minute. 10 minutes later he returned and then had the cheek to tell us to hurry up or we would miss our tee time.

We then had to pay £18 for 9 holes, if the course was nearly half decent this would have been ok!

Tees not pointing at the fairways, Fairways uneven cut, greens had massive bald patches, very bumpy and sandy, lips of holes were bowed up making it near impossible to putt.

Members in front were very very slow, nearly 3 hours for 9 holes and not allowed to play through the 4 ball in front even waiting on the same tee as the 2 ball in front of them!

I would not recommend this course to any level golfer, puts a bad name on pay and play golf courses.
